According to government source Nepal Figures in 2007, there are 15.80% Chhetri, 12:74% Brahmmin , 7:14% Magar, 6.75% Tharu, 5:64% Tamang, 5:48% Newar, 4:27% Muslim, 3:94% Kami, 3:94% Yadav, and Rai 2:79% of the total population.
